These festive Halloween treats are topped with colorful fun candy corn and the addition of candy corn melted in the orange layer adds tasty flavor to the treats themselves!

I like to cut my candy corn krispie treats into squares but you can also cut them into strips and then into triangles to create candy corn shaped treats!

Regular rice krispie treats are one of my absolute favorites! I love making variations for the holidays like my peppermint white chocolate treats, or carrot cake treats! So I decided it was time to create Halloween rice krispie treats! And what says Halloween season better than candy corn! The fun colors, and the tasty flavor combine beautifully with melted marshmallows and rice krispie cereal to create a crunchy, sticky, delicious treat!

Tips For Success

For best results use gel food coloring. It is more saturated and you can use just a little so it doesn’t alter the taste of your candy corn rice krispies treats.

Use a greased spatula or buttered hands- When pressing your layers into place the gooey marshmallows can get sticky! Spray a spatula with cooking spray or lightly spread butter on your hands to press the layers into place. You can also use a piece of buttered wax paper or parchment paper.

Here’s how to make these Halloween treats-

Line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper and butter it or spray with non-stick spray.

I like to place the marshmallows and crispy rice cereal for each layer into separate bowls

For the first yellow layer- Place 2 tablespoons butter, and 2 cups marshmallows in a medium saucepan, cook over medium heat until completely smooth and melted.

Remove from heat and add a few drops of yellow food coloring. I ended up using about 1/4 tsp of yellow gel food coloring. Mix until the marshmallow mixture is evenly colored, adding more color if desired.

Add in 2 cups Rice Krispies cereal and fold until cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.

Using a greased spatula or buttered hands press mixture into the bottom of your prepared pan and set aside.

Add in 2 cups Rice Krispies cereal and fold until cereal is evenly coated.

Press the mixture into the pan on top of the yellow layer.
