Who doesn’t love creamy, cheesy Alfredo sauce?
Anyone watching their weight, that’s who!
My go to has always been a quick sauce with butter, cream cheese, milk and Parmesan, then I decided to make a”skinny” version using Greek yogurt. The Greek yogurt replaces the cream cheese, and using a low fat milk helps reduce calories even more but you don’t notice the difference!
It is super delicious! All the boys loved it and my Mom happened to be over while I was cooking so she taste tested too and gave it a thumbs up. I served it over some pasta with broccoli and leftover grilled chicken, but anything you use Alfredo on, this would cover it!
This Greek yogurt Alfredo sauce is super creamy and really easy to make! It’s perfect for a weeknight dinner or to dress up for a special occasion!
A couple of things before we get to the recipe.
First, this recipe uses chicken broth, you can easily swap that out for vegetable broth to make this vegetarian, it tastes just as good! I often swap for my homemade vegetable bullion and it adds a great flavor.
Second, you can make this ahead of time if you are preparing your meals for the week. It keeps in an airtight container in the fridge. It does get pretty thick once it’s chilled but when you heat it up it will go back to the right consistency. You may need to add a splash of milk to get it nice and creamy again.
I’ve been asked if you can use whole milk or half & half for this recipe. You sure can, but that really defeats the purpose of healthy-ing up this Alfredo sauce… it does make it super creamy though.
This is delicious over any pasta, or a great sauce to add to veggies, chicken, even fish. We really haven’t found anything that we don’t like it on!!
Here’s how to make this Greek Yogurt Alfredo Sauce-
Don’t worry the healthy deliciousness doesn’t stop here! I’ve written an entire e-cookbook full of recipes using this delicious Greek yogurt Alfredo!!

I was able to try this today, and I substituted the chicken broth with vegetable broth, and it still turned out great!

I won’t lie. I didn’t expect much from this recipe. I am not a huge fan of greek yogurt in general, but I have used it successfully a few times, so I decided to give it a shot in hopes that maybe it might be another sauce option for when I exhaust my other go-tos.
My expectations were exceeded! This was DELICIOUS. I think I actually prefer it to the full fat version you buy in a jar, and that is not a compliment I throw out just willy nilly.
I made some changes based on what I had on hand. I used oat flour instead of white and low sodium organic broth. I also added maybe 1/8th cup feta cheese. I served mine over brown rice noodles with ground turkey. I can’t express how delicious it was.
Thanks for the recipe!

Love this! Just whipped it up for dinner using “alternative” milk, yogurt, and cheese it still came out :). I added some ground red pepper and parsley though to make up for using less garlic (it doesn’t agree with me much).

Great to know that the alterations worked!! Ground red pepper sounds like an awesome addition, thanks for sharing!
