Tuna salad is perfect for sandwiches or served on a bed of greens! This recipe is super simple, easy, and full of flavor!

I love a recipe that is versatile, something you can make for lunch or dinner, something that can be a sandwich, a salad, or even served on crackers…

This tuna salad is one of those recipes! It has a ton of flavor but it is still super easy and can be ready in just a few minutes!

This recipe is delicious fresh, but it can also be made ahead so it is great for meal prepping or making for a party or lunches.

What is the Best Tuna for Tuna Salad?

Here’s the thing about tuna salad (in my humble opinion at least) you can have the best seasonings and ingredients but with the wrong tuna it is going to be yucky!

So what tuna do I recommend? I always use white albacore in water. I find that regular “chunk light” tuna is way to fishy tasting, and has a mushy texture. Tuna packed in oil makes a greasy tuna salad. So I always use the white albacore. It is a little more expensive but the difference is well worth it! Canned tuna is such an inexpensive ingredient anyway it still makes for an affordable meal!

This tuna salad recipe makes enough for about 4 sandwiches, you can easily cut it in half or double it depending on how much you need!

I’m actually not a huge fan of celery, but I love the crunch it gives this recipe. If you don’t like celery pickles make an excellent replacement to give a little more dill flavor and a little crunch.

How Can I Serve This Tuna Salad?

I love this tuna salad on a sandwich! It is delicious on a croissant, a fresh roll, or your favorite bread ( I like to toast it first!) When I make a sandwich I love to put fresh tomato and lettuce.

Some other toppings you might want to try on your sandwich are avocado, pickles, or cheese.

You can also serve it with crackers! It is great along with some cheese and chopped veggies for a delicious light lunch or snack.

Or put a scoop of tuna salad on a bed of your favorite greens, I think it is great on fresh spinach, or mixed greens, I love to add in chopped tomato and some croutons for a delicious and super simple salad!

Here’s what you need for this tuna salad-

2 -Cans White Albacore Tuna (drained)

1/4 Cup -Mayonaise

1 tsp- Dill (dried dill weed)

2 tsp- Minced Dried Onion

1/2 tsp- Garlic Powder

1/2 tsp – Lemon Juice

1/4 Cup- Finely Chopped Celery

pinch of salt

Tuna salad is super easy to make, and you can for the sake of time just throw everything into a bowl and mix it thoroughly. But I like to mix the dressing ingredients together first.

First mix your mayo, dill, onion, garlic, and lemon in a medium size bowl until they are thoroughly mixed.

Then add in your celery, and drained tuna. Mix until everything is well incorporated.

You can serve immediately but it tastes even better if you cover it and refrigerate for 30 minutes or more so that the flavors have time to blend.

Use it for a delicious sandwich, salad or snack!
