I love brownies. I used to make a pan almost every weekend, but since that isn’t great for the waistline I’ve started reserving them for special occasions or a fun weekend treat!
I also discovered when I made my first batch of coconut oil brownies how easy it is to make them from scratch! So most of the time now I whip some up with ingredients I have in my pantry instead of from a mix.
These peanut butter brownies are my latest and they are amazing!! I firmly believe that peanut butter and chocolate are one of the best flavor combinations in the world.
There is something about a delicious fudgy brownie with a peanut butter swirl that is simply divine!
This recipe combines delicious homemade brownies with a peanut butter swirl that results in fudgy peanut butter brownies that are perfect for any occasion! This is a great recipe to take to bake sales or to make for get-togethers, everyone loves these brownies!
A few tips for making these chocolate peanut butter brownies-
1- This brownie recipe is from scratch, I’ve been asked if you can use a box mix or your favorite brownie recipe as the brownie base and just add the swirls of peanut butter to them? Most likely, yes. I know that some people have their perfect brownie mix or recipe and I totally understand wanting to use it! I can’t say definately withough seeing your recipe or the instructions on your mix, but this is a pretty basic brownie recipe so most others should work. The most important thing to pay attention to is the size of the batch ( for instance if your mix fills a 9×9 or 13×9 pan) and baking times adjustments may need to be made and you’ll want to watch cooking time.
2- Can I use crunchy peanut butter? Yes, if you are a lover of peanut bits in your peanut butter desserts by all means use crunchy peanut butter! You can also use natural peanut butter, it tends to be a little oilier than regular peanut butter so your peanut butter swirl may not set exactly the same but it will still be delicious.
3- For the peanut butter lovers who want an extra boost of peanut butter flavor you can swap out the chocolate chips with peanut butter chips, or you can do half and half if you want an equal combination of chocolate and peanut butter! If you want to be really fancy you can chop up peanut butter cups and sprinkle them across the top!
