Red White & Blue Brownie Pizza
Are you looking a delicious patriotic dessert that will wow at your picnic or party? This Red White and Blue Brownie Pizza is a delicious chewy brownie crust topped with cream cheese frosting and colorful M&M’s! It is delicious and festive!
We love the 4th of July! Fireworks, food and friends make for an awesome summer evening! We always have a party with our friends and family and enjoy spending the day relaxing and eating.
I always try to whip up a dessert that is as festive as it is delicious! This brownie pizza is one that is always a hit and everyone asks for the recipe! The kids go crazy for it, adults love it, and there are very rarely any leftovers (crumbs don’t count!)
What I love about it is that the brownie crust is thin but still nice and chewy and the frosting, while a thick layer is made with cream cheese for a touch of tartness along with the sweet! Of course this recipe can be tweaked for other holidays, adding some red and green for Christmas, black and orange for Halloween, or even pastel for Easter!
Or just a rainbow mix for any ocassion!

Here’s what you need to make this brownie pizza-
For Brownie Crust
Butter- softened, unsalted is best but salted will work too if it is what you have. You can also substitute margarine but it may change the texture of the brownie a bit.
Unsweetened Baking Chocolate- Solid unsweetened chocolate, usually sold in bars, in the baking aisle.
Sugar- I like to use cane sugar, but regular white sugar is fine
Flour- All purpose is the best one for these.
Eggs- Use large eggs, room temperature
Vanilla- Pure vanilla extract
Salt
For the Icing–
Cream Cheese- Room temperature, brick cream cheese
Butter- I use salted for this frosting, softened. Do not substitute margarine.
Powdered Sugar
Vanilla- For pure white icing use clear vanilla, if you don’t mind a cream color you can use brown. (I used regular brown vanilla in the one pictured here.
Pinch of salt
For Decoration-
Here’s how to make this Brownie Pizza-
First preheat the oven to 350 or 325 if you are using a non stick pan.
Spray a 12 inch pizza pan with non stick spray. You must use a pizza pan with edges, a pizza stone will not work for this recipe.
Add baking chocolate, butter, and sugar to a medium saucepan and heat it over low heat stirring frequently until melted and smooth.
Remove from the heat, add the vanilla and stir to mix well.
In a large mixing bowl combine flour and salt, pour in the chocolate mixture and mix throughly.
Add in eggs one at a time, mixing between each addition until eggs are well incorporated.
Spread the batter evenly across your prepared pizza pan.
Bake for 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. This is a thin brownie so be careful not to overbake.
Once it is done baking allow it to cool completely before frosting.
To make the frosting–
Cream together the butter and cream cheese with an electric mixer.
Add in vanilla and continue mixing.
Gradually add in powdered sugar, mixing after each addition until it is all blended in.
Spread the frosting evenly across the cooled brownie.
Decorate the frosted brownie with M&M’s. I recommend laying out your pattern before getting started so you know what your finished design will look like.
Sprinkle on sprinkles as desired.
Cut into 8 large or 16 small slices to serve.

Here are some tips for success-
Don’t overbake the brownie– This brownie crust is thin and bakes quickly, make sure to keep an eye on it while it is baking and test the center with a wooden toothpick.
Make sure your frosting ingredients are softened– Your cream cheese and butter will blend together much better to create a smooth frosting if they are nice and soft when you use them.
Add your decorations right before serving– The colors of the M&M’s tend to seep into the frosting after awhile so if you are making this ahead of time frost the brownie but don’t add the decorations until just a little before serving.
