Tips & FAQ for Making the Best Air Fryer Broccoli
Other ways to season this broccoli-
I love this broccoli with just a few simple spices but there are other great options you can add to change up the flavor. This is a great side dish to tweak to go with any meal! If you like a little spice a sprinkle of red pepper flakes is a great addition. One of our favorites is a sprinkle of minced garlic and freshly grated parmesan cheese for garlic parmesan broccoli. Another great addition is a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. It is also delicious drizzled with a creamy cheese sauce! For a little Asian flair an addition of ginger and sesame seeds are delicious! Another super easy seasoning is a sprinkle of “Everything But the Bagel” seasoning.
You can layer the broccoli in the air fryer basket-
Unlike most air fryer recipes it is ok if the broccoli isn’t in a single layer. About half way through the cooking time you’ll toss the broccoli to mix it so all of the pieces get nice and crispy. While you don’t have to place the broccoli in a single layer you don’t want to over crowd the basket. Be sure to leave enough room so the broccoli is perfectly roasted. Depending on the size of your air fryer basket you may need to cook the broccoli in batches.
Can I use frozen broccoli?
For best results you’ll want to use fresh broccoli florets for this recipe. Frozen broccoli florets have excess water and won’t result in the nice crisp edges that are the best part of crispy air fryer broccoli. If you use frozen broccoli you can air fry it a bit longer so that it roasts well. If you like your broccoli softer that frozen will work well for you.
Cook time may vary-
Depending on your style and size of air fryer and the size of the broccoli florets it may take a little more or less time to cook. Cooking time will also depend on how crispy you like your broccoli. Keep an eye on the the tips of the florets because they will brown first. The high heat will brown them quickly so keep an eye on them. Be sure to toss or stir the broccoli half way through cooking so that it is evenly crispy and tasty.
How to store this roasted broccoli-
You can store leftover broccoli in an air tight container in the refrigerator. It stores well for 2-3 days. If you want to reheat it and still have it crispy you can place it back in the air fryer at 350 and cook for 4 minutes or until heated through.
