FAQs & Tips For This Air Fryer Mini Pizza Recipe

Variations & Toppings –

Top these homemade pizzas with your favorite pizza toppings like pepperoni, black olives, chopped bell pepper, bacon, Italian sausage or any other of your favorite toppings. When preparing your toppings chop them into smaller pieces than you would use for a regular size pizza so that you can fit them on your mini pizzas. You can use your favorite store bought pizza sauce or pasta sauce or use homemade tomato sauce. If you don’t love marinara you can use garlic butter or even ranch dressing!

Cooking tips-

Depending on the shape and size of your air fryer cooking time may vary. Start with 5 minutes and then coon for an additional minute at a time until the dough is cooked through and the cheese is melted.

Don’t use parchment paper to line your air fryer.

The mini air fryer pizzas cook as the hot air circulates around it. Parchment blocks the air from reaching the pizza crust and can result in an undercooked pizza. If you want to line your air fryer be sure to use air fryer liners. To prevent sticking you can spray the basket with olive oil.

Leave room between your pizzas-

For best results don’t crowd the air fryer, leave a few inches between the pizzas so that they don’t stick together while they are cooking and there is room for the air to circulate as the pizza cooks.

Can I make these ahead of time?

Absolutely! This is a great recipe to make ahead and have on hand to pop in the air fryer. You can make them and add the toppings and keep them in an airtight container in the fridge until you are ready to cook them. You can also place them on a parchment lined baking sheet in the freezer and then transfer them to an airtight container once they are frozen until you are ready to cook them.

How to store these pizzas-

Store leftover pizzas refrigerated in an airtight container or wrapped in plastic wrap. Leftovers make a great after school snack or lunchbox treat. These also freeze well. Cook and cool the pizzas completely before storing. To reheat place them in a 350 degree air fryer or oven until heated through.
