Red White & Blue Marshmallow Bars

This delicious, no bake, patriotic dessert is perfect for any summer holiday! Made with only 5 ingredients these red white and blue marshmallow bars are the perfect treat for parties and gatherings!

These marshmallow bars are a no-bake treat! No need to heat up the oven on a hot summer day. They are super easy and come together in just a few minutes.

They can be made ahead. These are perfect for parties because you can make ahead of time and pull them out of the fridge when you are ready to serve!

You can use any color M&M’s! Personalize these for any occasion with your favorite colors. Use school colors for graduation parties or your favorite colors for birthday parties or other celebrations!

Ingredients

  • 12 oz Package Chocolate Chips
  • 11 oz Package Butterscotch Chips
  • 1 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 10 oz Bag Mini Marshmallows
  • 1 Cup M&M’s

Instructions

  • First line a 9×13 baking pan with aluminum foil and then butter the pan, or you can use non-stick foil.
  • Next place all of the chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and peanut butter in a large, microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 30 second increments, stirring after each, until completely melted and smooth.
  • If you prefer to use a stove top instead of a microwave you can place the chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and peanut butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Stir frequently until all of the chips are completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat.
  • Add marshmallows into the melted chocolate chip mixture and stir until the marshmallows are evenly coated.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly.
  • Sprinkle M&M’s evenly across the top of the marshmallow mixture.
  • Place in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours until completely set.
  • Remove from refrigerator and allow to sit for about 10 minutes before cutting. Cut into 24 squares and serve.

Variations & Substitutions-

Use White Chocolate Chips– You can swap out the chocolate chips for white chocolate chips for a creamy peanut butter, butterscotch flavor.

Add Peanuts- If you want to have a more “rocky road” flavor to your bars you can swap out about 1 cup of marshmallows for peanuts.

Add Sprinkles– Put even more color and fun on your marshmallow bars by adding your favorite jimmies or sprinkles.
