Variations of this Pina Colada Mocktail Recipe

Use different juice– While a traditional pina colada is made with fresh pineapple juice you can swap it out for other juices, or you can mix a variety of juices. Orange juice, mango juice or peach juice make delicious additions. A squirt if lime juice makes a great tart addition too!

Add frozen fruit- You can use frozen fruit like strawberries or watermelon to add additional flavor to make this refreshing mocktail. For extra pineapple flavor you can add frozen pineapple chunks in place of some of the ice.

Coconut Milk or Coconut Cream?

For this virgin pina colada recipe we’re using coconut cream. Coconut cream is full of flavor and creates a creamier thicker drink than coconut milk.

Coconut milk is made by blending the grated flesh of a mature coconut with water and then straining the mixture. It has a thin, watery consistency and a lower fat content than coconut cream.

Coconut cream, on the other hand, is made by simmering coconut milk until it thickens and reduces by about half. This results in a thicker, richer consistency and a higher fat content than coconut milk.

Canned unsweetened coconut cream is the perfect ingredient for this virgin piña colada mocktail recipe because it adds a rich creamy texture and delicious coconut flavor.

How to serve this Pina Colada Mocktail-

These non alcoholic piña coladas are delicious to sip on a hot afternoon. You can always just blend in a blender, pour into glasses and serve, or you can dress them up a bit!

A dollop of whipped cream is a delicious addition to this sweet drink. You can even make whipped coconut cream to add some extra coconut flavor!

A cherry on top is always a fun addition, a pineapple slice on the side, or one of those fun umbrellas will make you feel like you are on a tropical vacation!

How to Sweeten Pina Colada Mocktails-

This delicious frozen drink is super easy with only 3 ingredients. I personally find that the pineapple and coconut flavors are perfectly balanced and don’t require any additional sugar.

However I know some people like their cocktails a bit sweeter. The best way to sweeten these piña colada mocktails is by adding a bit of simple syrup. You can buy simple syrup or make it (it is super easy to make, here is a great recipe) You can also add a little honey or agave nectar to add some light sweetness.
