Honey & Oatmeal Soap (great for sensitive skin!)
If you are looking for a gentle soap that is great for sensitive skin you will love this honey and oatmeal soap! This homemade soap is super simple and easy to make!
This time of year a lot of people deal with dry and sensitive skin! The harsh winter air and drying heat are hard on skin, and sometimes you need just the right products to make it feel better!
This honey and oatmeal soap is perfect for anytime of the year but especially in the winter! The honey is healing and the oatmeal is super soothing for the itchy dry skin that winter can bring.
Years ago I created a lavender and oatmeal shampoo for my dog and ever since then I’m a huge fan of oatmeal in homemade products.
This soap is super easy to make, smells lovely, and is perfect for every member of your family! If you’re just getting into soap making this is perfect for beginners!
Here’s what you’ll need for your honey and oatmeal soap-
(you can make 6 bars if you use the same mold I did!)
- ¾ pound melt & pour goats milk soap base – available at craft stores & Amazon
- 8 ounces rolled oats (finely ground)
- 4 tablespoons honey
- Oval silicone
mold – you can find the one I used on Amazon - Large Pyrex measuring cup
- Wooden stir stick
First you’ll want to grind your oats nice and finely. I like to use the food processor but if you don’t have one you can use a rolling pin to crush them.
Next melt your soap base in the microwave. Start with 30 seconds and then do additional 10 second increments until it is completely melted.
Now add your honey and rolled oats to your soap base.
Now pour equal amounts into your mold and let it set for about an hour (or until completely hardened)
Once it’s hardened your honey and oatmeal soap is ready to use! You can keep these in an airtight container or wrap them individually. Enjoy in the bath or shower, your skin will thank you!
Super
Greetings, love your recipe. If I want to add any essential oil, which will blend or go well with honey and oats.
Many thanks!
Cindy
This look so good! What a great way to make sure you know all the ingredients in your soap!
Thanks for sharing! Does it keep long?
Can another soap base be used besides the goat milk?
