We have a debate going on in my house. Is the sauce part of a dish? Some of us say yes, others say no that the dish should stand alone without sauce. Personally? I’m team sauce is part of the dish. A good topping, dip or sauce can put a meal over the edge with flavor and make it stand out. How to use this sauce- This is of course delicious on a hamburger or cheeseburger but it also amazing on lots of other dishes. We love it on a wrap, as a salad dressing, or for dipping chicken nuggets or french fries.

How to store this burger sauce- This sauce stores well in an airtight container for up to a week. It tastes best after being refrigerated for 24 hours so this is a perfect make ahead sauce.

Ingredients for Big Mac Sauce

  • Mayonnaise – I suggest using real full-fat mayo for this recipe. Using low fat mayo or Miracle Whip or other salad dressing will change the flavor and texture of the sauce.
  • Sweet Relish– Sweet pickle relish adds the touch of sweetness that we know and love in Big Mac sauce. If you prefer dill relish you can use it but it will change the flavor a lot.
  • Yellow Mustard– Mustard ads the perfect tasty tang to this sauce. If you need to swap it out for a different mustard I suggest using brown mustard and not Dijon.
  • White Vinegar– Vinegar adds a sour note to this sauce so you just need a little. If you don’t have white vinegar apple cider vinegar is a good replacement.
  • Onion Powder & Garlic Powder– Make sure to get onion and garlic powder not onion or garlic salt. Fresh is better so it has a lot of flavor.
  • Paprika– This is what gives the sauce it’s pretty pink color and a lot of flavor. If you want a bit of a smoky flavor in your sauce you can use smoked paprika.

How to make this sauce –

This sauce is super easy to make! Simply place all of the ingredients in a medium size bowl and stir until well mixed. The sauce can be used immediately but for best results refrigerate in an air tight container for 24 hours before using.

Ingredients

  • ½ Cup Real Mayo
  • 2 Tablespoons Sweet Relish
  • ½ Tablespoon Yellow Mustard
  • ½ Teaspoon White Vinegar
  • ½ Teaspoon Onion Powder
  • ½ Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • ½ Teaspoon Paprika

Instructions
