Great additions– This simple pineapple dump cake is great as it is but you can add some additional ingredients for variation. If you love pineapple upside down cake you can add maraschino cherries in with the pineapple. You can also add shredded coconut to the pineapple for a tropical taste. Variations- One great way to vary this dump cake is by using different flavors of boxed cake mix. I use yellow cake mix but other flavors are just as delicious! You can also use different kinds of canned pineapple. If you would like more texture you can make this recipe with all pineapple chunks. No matter what cut of canned pineapple you use make sure to pineapple in juice NOT pineapple in heavy syrup.

How to serve pineapple dump cake- Because this dump cake is similar to a cobbler I like to serve it like one! I think pineapple dump cake is best served warm topped with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream. Vanilla ice cream goes well with the pineapple flavor, you can also use cherry, or pineapple ice cream.

How to store pineapple dump cake– Leftover pineapple dump cake can be stored in an air tight container. I like to keep mine refrigerated to keep it fresh longer. If you want to serve it warm you can heat up individual portions in the microwave before eating.

1- Box Yellow Cake Mix

1- 20 oz Can Pineapple Chunks (in juice)

1- 20 oz Can Crushed Pineapple (in juice)

1/2 Cup Brown Sugar

1 Cup Butter (melted)

Here’s how to make Pineapple Dump Cake

Preheat the oven to 350

Pour the pineapple chunks and crushed pineapple with their juices into the bottom of a 9×13 baking pan.

Sprinkle the brown sugar on top of the pineapple as evenly as possible.

Sprinkle dry cake mix on top of the pineapple and brown sugar as evenly as possible.
