Absolutely. While taquitos are traditionally wrapped with a crispy corn tortilla you can make air fryer taquitos with flour tortillas. Flour tortillas have a different texture and cook differently so your cook time may change if you choose to use flour tortillas. It is a good idea to make a couple and cook them to see how long they take. You can also use larger tortillas if you’d like to make bigger taquitos.

These taquitos can be stored refrigerated in an airtight container. For softer taquitos when you reheat them you can wrap them in a damp paper towel and microwave for about 30 seconds to 1 min. Here’s how to make these Chicken Taquitos in the Air Fryer

In a large mixing bowl mix together the shredded chicken and softened cream cheese and mix. Add the salsa and shredded cheese to the chicken mixture stir until well blended.

Before making taquitos warm up the tortillas Place 2-3 tortillas on a microwave safe plate covered with a damp paper towel and microwave tortillas for about 30 seconds this helps make the tortillas pliable and easy to work with. Work with just a couple of tortillas at a time so that when you roll up the tortilla they are soft and pliable.

To assemble the taquitos scoop about 1/4 cup chicken mixture into the center of each tortilla and wrap the sides of the tortilla tightly around the filling. Repeat with the other heated tortillas.

In the last panel are three taquitos placed in the basket of an air fryer and brushed with oil.

Continue heating remaining tortillas a few at a time and filling them until all of the tortillas are formed into taquitos.

Preheat air fryer to 400°f

Place taquitos in a single layer in the air fryer basket seam side down. Make sure to leave enough room between the taquitos for the hot air to circulate and cook the taquitos. You may have to work in batches.

Brush the taquitos lightly with olive oil (or spray with olive oil cooking spray) and sprinkle with salt.

Set the air fryer to 400 degrees and air fry the taquitos for 6-9 minutes or until golden brown and crunchy.

Repeat with remaining taquitos until they are all cooked.

Serve warm.
