Make sure you can find this later now!!
Today’s gift is a fun little stocking stuffer for the kiddos on your list. Perfect for long car rides, waiting in restaurants, to keep quiet in church… anytime they need a distraction.
I’ve included crayons and little pieces of paper to go with them. Also a chalkboard front and back so if the paper runs out it’s still fun.
Here’s what you’ll need-
A tin- this is the size of an Altoid tin, and you could use one except their lid is bumpy. I used these
Spray Paint (optional)
Masking Tape
Hot Glue Gun
Elastic
Crayons and Chalk
Paint Marker
Paper
Scissors
Don’t let that long list intimidate you- this is pretty simple.
First thing is to spray paint your tin. You don’t have to, you can leave it plain metal if you want.
Next you’ll want to give the front and the back a nice coating of chalkboard paint. I used two coats on each side.
I don’t have pictures of those steps…I wasn’t thinking. But you get the idea.
Once that is dry you can add a tic tac toe board to the back. Mask it off with tape and draw a line down the side with your paint marker.
Continue until you’ve drawn all four lines.
Now it’s time to add the crayons and chalk. What you’ll need to do is cut a piece of elastic long enough to wrap around them and glue.
Make sure you can lay them flat before gluing, this is important so that they’ll stay put when you close the lid.
Once that glue has set. You want to glue all the way across your elastic so that it secures nice and flat.
Now hold it nice and firmly against the lid of our tin.
Once that part is done you can cut your paper into about business card size and stack them in the bottom of your tin.
And you’re done! A fun little handmade gift for the little people in your life!
