Everything Bagel Scones

These everything bagel scones are a delicious savory scone. Made with cream cheese and bagel seasoning they have all the flavor of your favorite breakfast food in a tender crumbly scone. Perfect for any breakfast or brunch!

Ingredients

  • ½ Cup Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • ¾ tsp Salt
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese cold
  • 6 Tbsp Butter cold
  • 2 Tbsp Fresh Chives chopped
  • 1 Egg White
  • 1 tsp Water
  • 1 Tbsp Everything Bagel Seasoning

Instructions

  • First you'll need to preheat the oven to 400 and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl combine the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt, mix well.
  • Cut your cold butter and cream cheese into small cubes and place in with the dry ingredients.
  • Using a pastry cutter 2 knives cut the cream cheese and butter pieces into the flour mixture blending until the mixture is soft and crumbly. Alternately if you don't have a pastry blender or don't want to do it by hand you can place the dry ingredients, cream cheese and butter in a food processor and pulse them until the mixture is crumbly.
  • In a medium bowl whisk together one whole egg and milk.
  • Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and stir together with a wooden spoon or spatula.
  • Add in 1 ½ Tbsp chopped chives, fold to stir in evenly.
  • Place the scone dough on a lightly floured surface and knead gently until smooth and well mixed.
  • Then pat the dough into an 8x6 rectangle. Cut into 8 equal pieces (each will be 3x2)
  • Arrange the scones 2 in apart on your prepared baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl whisk egg white and water. Brush across the tops of the dough and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning and remaining chives.
  • Bake scones for 20- 25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool a little before serving. Can be served or warm or completely cool.
  • Store in an airtight container.
