First you’ll need to preheat the oven to 350.
Prepare a 13×9 baking dish by buttering it or spraying it with nonstick cooking spray.
Place the cherry pie filling in a medium size bowl, add in brown sugar and vanilla extract. Stir until well incorporated.
2 21 oz Cans Cherry Pie Filling, ½ cup Brown Sugar, 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Spread the pie filling across the bottom of the prepared pan.
Next sprinkle the whole box of dry cake mix as evenly as possible across the cherry filling.
1 box 15.25 oz Yellow or White Cake Mix
DO NOT STIR.
Now take the melted butter and drizzle it as evenly as possible across the cake mix layer covering as much of the cake mix as possible.
1 cup Butter Melted
Place in the oven and bake for 45-55 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly around the edge.
Let cool a little before serving.
Top with ice cream or whipped cream and serve!
Optional toppings: whipped cream or vanilla ice cream
