- 1 pkg of Italian sausage links 5 sausages
- 1 red pepper sliced
- 1 green pepper sliced
- 1 large onion sliced
- 1/2 tsp garlic salt
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup of your favorite pasta or tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Heat oil in a large skillet on medium- high heat. Brown the sausages 2-3 minutes on each side. (Just looking to brown each side not cook the sausage through.) You can also brown the sausage in the slow cooker if it has a sear setting.
Place the sausages in slow cooker and add your sliced bell peppers and onions on top. Sprinkle the garlic, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper all over.
Spread marinara sauce evenly over the top and place the lid on the slow cooker and let it cook on low for 6 -7 hours, or cook on high for 3-4 hours.
If desired place in a hoagie roll, top with mozzarella cheese and bake on a foil lined baking sheet and broil for 2-3 minutes
