Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Pounds Flank Steak
  • 4 Cups Broccoli Florets
  • For the marinade-
  • 1/2 Cup Soy Sauce or Coconut Aminos
  • 1/4 Cup Sesame Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • For the sauce-
  • 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoons Sesame Oil
  • 1 tsp Fresh Minced Garlic 1-2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp Fresh Ginger -grated or 1/2 tsp dried ground ginger
  • 2 Tbsp Corn Starch
  • Garnish-
  • Sesame Seeds

Instructions

  • The first step to making this dish is to marinade the beef. I like to marinade mine in a shallow baking dish or airtight container so that all of the meat gets marinated evenly.
  • The first thing to do is mix up the marinade. Place 1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup sesame oil, and 1/2 tsp baking soda in a large bowl.
  • Slice the beef against the grain in 1/4-1/2 inch slices. Place steak in a dish, or bowl and cover with the marinade.
  • Cover and place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • When ready to cook heat oven to 450.
  • Whisk together the sauce ingredients in a medium bowl, 2 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, 1 tsp fresh minced garlic, 1 tsp fresh ginger, and 2 tablespoons corn starch, mix well until everything is well incorporated.
  • Remove the meat from the marinade and spread evenly across a baking sheet. Spread the broccoli evenly out among the meat.
  • Pour the sauce mixture evenly across the meat and broccoli. Gently stir to help spread the sauce evenly across everything. I like to use tongs to gently stir and spread everything into an even layer.
  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  • Serve warm sprinkled with sesame seeds if desired.
  • Store any leftovers refrigerated in an airtight container.
