Base Cookie Dough Recipe

With this delicious cookie dough you can easily make 5 different cookies! This is a great way to make a variety of cookies and only need a few ingredients!

Ingredients

  • ¾ Cups Butter – softened
  • ¼ Cup Shortening or margarine
  • 1 ½ Cups Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 ½ tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 ½ Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Box Instant Vanilla Pudding
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp Salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl with an electric mixer or in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Cream together butter, shortening, and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add in eggs and vanilla extract, and instant pudding mix. Continue mixing until thoroughly incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl whisk together flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Add the dry ingredients mixture to the butter mixture a little at a time mixing between additions until all the flour mixture is well incorporated.
  • Using a dough scoop or spoon scoop drop by tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until set and lightly golden brown around the edges.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
