Are you an at home mom who needs some extra income but doesn’t want to leave her kids? Here are some awesome ways to make money, and great work at home jobs for moms.
I think there comes a time in every stay at home mom feels the need to contribute to her family’s finances. Maybe you need extra for vacations or holidays, maybe your day to day budget needs beefing up, or maybe you just need a little extra spending money.
As a homeschool mom it’s always been important to me to be home with my kiddos, so we can focus on learning, developing friendships, and pursuing their interests. I have always considered myself super blessed that my hubby has a wonderful job with awesome benefits that has allowed me to stay home pretty comfortably.
When my oldest was young, my husband was in the ARMY and money was often tight. I looked into at home employment and it was sooooo hard to find. The only thing I could find was a company that made little bells out of beads for florists. They paid per piece and you had to pay for supplies, I could tell quickly it was not a legit form or work if I wanted any real income.
Thankfully work at home jobs for moms have come a loooonnnnggg way since then and there are a ton of opportunities to stay at home with your kids and earn a nice income.
There have been times though where money gets tight, extra expenses pop up, or we want to do something fun where an extra income would be really nice. I know a lot of families who make sacrifices so that mom can be at home or homeschool the kids. It is even harder to transition from two incomes to just one if you decided to be a at home mom after working.
While the solution for some might be a part time job working around their husband’s schedule or cutting expenses, the best solution might be finding a great work at home job!

Web Site & Social Media Evaluator- Companies like Appen Global and Lionbridge have tons of remote work opportunities. I have personal experience with Appen and it has been very positive. These hourly part time positions allow you to work when it is convenient for you and most pay in the range of $10-$15 an hour! The work is simple, evaluating ads for relevance and analyzing social media. Applications are easy, training is straight forward, and the hours are nice and flexible. There is no previous experience necessary or minimum education requirements.
VIP Kid- You might have heard of this awesome company that has become popular as a work at home job for moms! VIPKid provides English tutoring for kids in China, I have a great friend who homeschools her boys and works for VIP kid. Here’s what she had to say! “VIPKid has been an amazing whirlwind of an experience for me. I went from working nights at a job I hated to working when I want for as few or as many hours that I want at a job that I adore!
Working for VIPKid, I work 20-25 hours a week (That’s 40-50 classes). They provide the curriculum, I provide a personalized ESL experience for each of my students. With this schedule, I have been able to contribute $1500-2000 each month to my family income.
The application process is rather rigorous, and a bachelor’s degree, teaching experience, and background check are required. You also need to meet certain tech requirements.
I was able to get students within a month of being hired, but for many teachers it takes some time to get bookings. So, you’ll need to be patient and use that time to build your skills by using the workshops and information that VIPKid provides.”
