Get kids excited about dental hygiene and going to the dentist!

I have found, over the years, that things with kids are a lot easier if you can make them fun and interesting.

And let’s face it there are some things that are a little harder to make fun… like going to the dentist or brushing teeth. But they are things that we have to teach our kids to keep them healthy so we can try our best to make it a great experience for everyone!

There are so many fun books, games, and activities that can help your child get excited about taking care of their teeth and visiting the dentist, and can make your life as a momma much easier!

Activities to get kids excited about taking care of their teeth-

You can start with this fun printable connect the dots to get your child having fun and talking about dental hygiene (just fill out the form below to have it delivered right to your inbox.)

If you want even more fun check out this printable dentist activity book with over 20 pages!

Another great idea is to get some tooth and dentist themed games!

This Play-Doh Dr. Drill N’ Fill was my oldest son’s favorite! He got it right before his first trip to the dentist! That was almost 20 years ago and I’m so glad they still make them!

Get your child familiar with the Dentist’s tools by letting them play dentist with this fun play dentist kit! It even comes with plastic teeth so you don’t have to volunteer as a patient!

Read some books about taking care of your teeth!

I’ve always been a big believer that reading books together is a great way to help your child understand things or get ready for something new!

If your child loves Peppa Pig they’ll love this adventure “Dentist Trip.”

Our family has always loved the Little Critter books so “Just Going to the Dentist” was one we loved!

To learn all about great dental hygiene habits “The Tooth Book” is a great pick!

Get them fun tools to take care of their teeth!

One of the best things I ever did to get my boys interested in brushing and flossing was to let them pick out their own fun toothbrush, toothpaste and flossers!

You can take them to the store and let them pick something out or just hop over to Amazon and order them cute flossers like these or an awesome electric toothbrush like this one! They’ll be much more interested in keeping their teeth clean if it’s fun!

Hopefully these ideas and this fun printable connect the dots help your child to get excited about taking care of their teeth and comfortable with going to the dentist!
