My children love all things squishy, and gooey, and slimy and stretchy…
If you can mush around in it they’re game.
Now Nathan, who has a particular love of goo, isn’t a huge fan of Play Doh. Of all the things he can mush around in and make a mess with Play Doh is pretty low on that list.
But this recipe is a different story.
This dough is incredibly squishy and has a stretchy quality to it that makes it really fun to mess in.
It’s also really quick and easy to make, you can be squishin’ and squashin’ in no time.
Here’s what you’ll need
2- Cups Flour
2- Cups Water
4- tsp. Cream of Tarter
2- Tbsp. Vegetable Oil
1- Packet (2 tsp.) Unflavored Gelatin
Food Coloring of your choice – we used green
First measure out your water and add in several drops of food coloring. (Don’t worry if at the end it isn’t as dark as you want, you an always add more)
Pour your water into a large pan place over med/high heat and sprinkle the gelatin on top. Stir for about 5 minutes or until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
Now turn your heat down to low and add in your other ingredients and mix well.
Turn your heat back up and stir continuously. It will start to thicken pretty quickly. You’ll notice that it starts to look more like play doh as you go. Keep stirring (about a minute) until it is on solid glob in the middle.
Transfer it to a clean table or surface, (careful its hot!!) Allow to cool until it’s comfortable to handle and knead until nice and smooth.
Now get to playing!!
To store it put it in a zipper baggie & squeeze out as much air as you can or put it in an air tight container.
