Make St. Patrick’s Day fun for your little ones with this glittery gold slime. Your little leprechauns will be delighted with this St. Patrick’s Day Slime!
My kids have always loved St. Patrick’s Day. My mom makes a big deal out of it with a dinner of corned beef and cabbage, special green drinks for the adults and green soda for the kids.
One year there were even green mustaches involved.
My youngest loves holidays big and small. He always thinks everyone should get the day off and that there should be big celebrations.
So over the years I’ve gotten in on the fun with him. I try to think of fun things to do for the little holidays. It’s not Christmas level exciting, but we like to think of special crafts and fun food to make each and every holiday special!
So this year we decided to make some St. Patrick’s Day slime. It is full of green sparkles and gold sequins. Think pot of gold a the end of the rainbow!
There are a ton of different recipes for slime out there, for this one we chose to use clear glue and starch. The clear glue lets the glitter shine through much better than white glue. My son also like the texture that starch creates. It is more of a putty than a slime. If you want a more slimy texture you can use 1/4 cup instead of the 1/2 that is in the recipe.
This would be a really fun thing to whip up and put in small containers for St. Patrick’s Day party favors.
Here’s What You’ll Need for this St. Patrick’s Day Slime
1/2 Cup Water
1/2- Cup Clear Elmer’s Glue
1/2- Cup Liquid Starch
1/4- Cup Green Glitter
2- Tbsp – Gold Sequins
In a large bowl mix together water and glue until well blended.
Then add your green glitter into the water and glue mixture. Mix thoroughly and then add your sequins.
Now slowly add the starch while stirring constantly until the desired slime consistency is reached.
Once the starch is incorporated you can squish and smoosh it to reach a nice putty texture.
It keeps nicely in an airtight container. We like to keep it in a ziploc baggie.
