The other day I was planning my garden for this summer and came across a big package of kale seeds. Kale is one of those things that I never knew I liked until I learned the right way to make it…. and one of the very best ways is as kale chips! I’ve found a couple of other ways I like it too but this is by far my most favorite.
Since I won’t have kale of my own for awhile I picked up some at the grocery store to whip a batch of these tasty chips. As always they were gone in a matter of minutes, it really is worth growing kale just to have a steady supply for chips!
I decided we needed to revisit this post again for …
Kale chips, the ultimate healthy yet satisfying snack.
Easy to make, so good for you, tasty, crunchy and an awesome alternative to potato chips.
There are a million variations out there, lots of delicious combinations and flavors.
And I’ve come up with another one.
It is delicious!! A little smoky flavor that is almost bacony combines with garlic for an addicting chip that you won’t feel bad about eating a whole bowl of!
Here’s what you’ll need for these smoky garlic kale chips-
1- Head of Kale
1/4- tsp Salt
1/2- tsp Garlic Powder
1/4- tsp Smoked Paprika
2- Tbsp Olive Oil
If you’ve never used smoked paprika before let me tell you it is well worth it’s price! A little goes a long way and you’ll find a million uses for it!
First thing you want to do is get your oven preheating to 275. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Now chop your kale into chip size pieces, removing all stems, wash it thoroughly (kale can be a little sandy sometimes so make sure it’s good and clean) and pat it dry.
Put it in a nice big bowl.
In a small dish combine your salt, garlic and paprika, mix well.
Drizzle your olive oil over your kale, sprinkle on your seasoning and toss well until evenly coated.
Now spread your kale out on your baking sheet and pop it in the oven. Bake for about 10 minutes and then flip your kale over, bake another 10 minutes or until nice and crispy.
Let cool and serve! I’m warning you now these won’t last long, even your kids will scarf them down!!
