Are you ready for Halloween?? Make these cute little k cup ghost lights to make your Halloween even more festive!
If you haven’t noticed I love an up-cycle!! I love to take something headed to the trash and turn it into something spectacular!
I also love my coffee… and my Keurig. We use the reusable cups most often these days but there are still times where I snatch up a box of my favorite Starbucks blend, some tea or hot coca for the kids and we’ve got a stack of K-cups.
What to do with them??
Not the trash.. no way! They are the perfect opportunity to get super crafty!!
This is such an easy project too! Get the kiddos involved in drawing fun ghosty faces and you can even dig out an old strand of Christmas lights and give them new life too!!
I bought a battery powered strand of 25 but you can always make longer strands, just adjust the other supplies accordingly!
Here’s what you’ll need-
25- K- Cups
Strand of Lights
First thing you want to do is make sure your k-cups are nice and clean. Rinse them out and peel off the foil top, I used a knife to get any little pieces that were still stuck!
Now its time to have fun giving your k- cups happy (or scary) ghosty faces!
Keep drawing until you’ve got enough ghosts to fill several haunted houses!
Once you’ve got all your k-cups decorated it’s time to give them the sheet over their ghosty heads!
This is pretty easy, but the tulle can be a little slippery, so just hold on to it. Gather it in one spot and pop a staple in to hold it down.
Now gather a little more on the opposite side and pop a staple in there too!
Work your way around the k-cup until the tulle is nicely secured.
Once you’ve got all your ghosts dressed up and ready to go, its time to get them ready to light up.
Using a nice sharp knife you want to cut an X in the top of your k-cup, just cut through the tulle too. Make your X just big enough for the light bulb to fit through, you want a nice tight fit.
Now pop the light bulb from your light through.
Here’s the view from inside!
Now they’re all set and ready to go! Just pop in batteries or plug them in and enjoy their Halloween light!
Have you gotten creative with K-Cups?? I’d love to hear your great ideas!
