This simple and fun road trip game will keep your kids busy and make car trips awesome!
So the other day I was scrolling through Facebook and I came across this awesome little video. As I watched it I thought what a simple fun idea it was… and how much my kids would love having something like it in the car!
Seriously, what a great idea is this?!? I showed the video to Daniel who promptly declared, “I want one!!”
Since we don’t live in Amsterdam, we can’t ride the bus and play, and although I’m sure I could find a similar sticker I’m not real keen on sticking stickers to my car windows, I wanted to figure out how to make one of my own!
What I came up with are some fun little monsters, adapted from some available on PicMonkey (just giving credit where it is due, I’m not a graphic monster designer!).
I figured out a way to stick them to the window without leaving a sticky residue, and that allows them to be re-positioned if necessary. I also decided that a score card would be super fun to keep track of all the unsuspecting victims of our hungry little monster!
So here’s how it all comes together.
First you’ll need some monsters!!
When you print them pick 4×6 as the size

or you can download them individually-
Once you have them printed you can cut them out, cut as closely to the edge as you can.
Now for the sticky part! Here’s the secret- Glad Press n’ Seal! It is the perfect way to stick the monster down without leaving a mess on your window!
Lay the Press n’ Seal over your monster and cut a small piece around it.
Now trim it in as closely as you can to your monster. You only need a little bit of overhang to get it to stick. Then press it onto the inside of your window. (I note here… I don’t have the cutting skills of a 3 year old… press n’ seal is hard to cut evenly! )
Now you’re ready to make it eat people!! Daniel was the first vicitm in our driveway!
No no don’t eat me!!
Oh NO!!!! (a note here, I was moving the camera… but traveling has the same effect!)
Once your monster is all set and you’re ready to go, it’s time to print out your score card. You could print out a bunch of these or print one and laminate it and use a dry erase marker on it to use over and over.
Keeping score is simple… just keep a running tally of every thing you eat and add it up when you arrive at your destination! If you want to make up house rules and assign more points to different things go ahead!! Have fun with it!

Now you’re ready for your most exciting road trip ever! Gobble up everything you pass and have fun!!
Where are you traveling this summer? I’d love to know where the monsters will be headed!
