Looking for a fun and easy art project A little shaving cream and some creativity and you can have a beautiful result! A great project for kids and for your homeschool!

Over the years I’ve met a lot of homeschool moms that dread teaching art. They think they aren’t creative enough, that they need special supplies,  or the process will result in a mess. This project is so super easy, uses supplies that you probably have at home, and results in some beautiful art work!

I’ve always been one who loves art projects, and doesn’t mind the mess, but it’s always my goal to help other mommas out and make their lives easier.

Even if you don’t homeschool, this is a fantastic rainy day project, a weekend art experiment or even a fun project for adults only!

This is such a fun project with beautiful results! Super easy and fun to do with the kids. A great homeschool art project!

Here’s what you’ll need-

Shaving cream- the cheap stuff works just fine

Food coloring

Heavy paper – we used construction paper

A Ruler

A baking pan or other flat container

First you want to fill your baking pan up with shaving cream. We used two 8×8 inch pans so that we could make different variations. You could also use  9×13 or even a cookie sheet.

Once you’ve got it full of shaving cream it’s time to add your color. You want to add colors that mix well together like blue, yellow and green or red, blue and purple. Add several drops of each color to your shaving cream evenly around the pan.

Now using your finger or a spoon swirl it around.

Now press your paper into the shaving cream and drag it across. If the first pass doesn’t cover the whole paper go ahead and do it again, until the paper is mostly covered.

Let it sit for about 30 seconds and then scrape off the shaving cream.

Once it’s all cleaned off set it aside to dry.

You’re done!

This is a great project for custom stationary, cards, envelopes. You can customize the colors for holidays or events like graduation parties, the possibilities are endless!

If you try it I’d love to know how it turns out! Come back and let me know!
