Have you seen the new hazelnut spread M&M’s? They are perfect in cookies! Make a batch of these hazelnut M&M cookies and taste for yourself!
I have professed my love for Nutella more than once here on the blog. If you missed it you’ll want to check out my Nutella sugar cookies and Nutella rice krispie treats. That combination of hazelnut and chocolate is just amazing.
I love it, I could seriously eat a jar with a spoon. But that isn’t socially acceptable.
However since the good people who make M&M’s decided to wrap a delicious chocolate hazelnut spread in a candy coating, it is now a-ok to it by the handful.
And of course, what better to do with a delicious variety of M&M’s than to put them in a cookie!
These cookies are so delicious, it is pretty basic cookie recipe that is nice and soft and buttery. The additon of the hazelnut spread M&M’s gives them an extra something special! This recipe makes a nice thick soft cookie that is perfect! If you prefer a smaller cookie you can just adjust the size of you dough balls!
These are perfect for parties, bake sales, or just whipping up some delicious cookies to have at home! These are really fun to make with kids because they love the colorful addition of the M&M’s and of course snitching a few while you bake is a must!
Here’s what you’ll need to make these Hazelnut M&M Cookies
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
8.3oz bag of Hazelnut M&M’s
The first thing you’ll want to do is get your oven preheating to 350, and line your baking sheet with parchment paper. (This is optional but it does help the cookies come off nice and clean when they are baked.
Now in the bowl of an electric mixer cream together your butter, sugar and brown sugar.
Now add in your eggs and vanilla and mix until well incorporated.
In a separate bowl combine your flour and baking soda. Then add your dry ingredients into your butter mixture and mix until blended.
Now fold in your hazelnut M&M’s.
Once you’re M&M’s are mixed in it’s time to bake! Scoop out your dough and roll it into balls (about golf ball sized) and gently press them down onto your parchment lined baking sheet.
If you prefer a smaller cookie you can make your dough balls smaller and only bake for 8-9 minutes.
Make sure you leave room in between for them to expand. About an inch is fine.
Now pop them in the oven for 10-12 minutes. Once they are done transfer them to a wire rack to cool.
You can store them in an airtight container to keep them fresh. (Although they never seem to last that long at my house!)
Now enjoy! These hazelnut M&M cookies are perfect with a cup of coffee with hazelnut creamer or a nice cold glass of milk!
