Making Math Fun With Discovery Learning

September 21, 2017 by Krista 1 Comment

This year I am down to one homeschooled kiddo… it’s a little crazy. I got used to having three around my table, then my oldest went to high school, and I was down to two. This year my oldest is away at college, my middle one has gone to high school, so it’s just the little man and me. **I received a Discovery Learning Math Subscription in exchange for my honest review, I have been compensated for my time** I decided since I get to focus solely on him this year, we’d have a lot of fun! I’m so excited to have found the Discovery Learning Math Subscription, we love it!

This year Daniel is in 4th grade, so math is getting to be a little more challenging. He usually picks up math concepts pretty quickly so it’s a pretty easy subject for me to teach him… except he gets boooorrreeeedd. The pencil gets dropped a million times, he starts conversations about obscure subjects, needs 100 bathroom breaks.

It’s hard to keep him interested.

Now we’ve tried several different math options and some of them have been better than others. He always likes the new different one for awhile but then gets bored with it.

Math Education That is Fun!

This year we decided to try  a Discovery Learning Math Subscription.  I loved the idea of it right away, it’s not a big heavy overwhelming math text book, or a pile of boring black and white worksheets. Instead it is a colorful, fun workbook, full of fun illustrations and characters.  It gets kids interested right away and makes getting them to sit down and get started way easier.

Fun Math for Homeschool

What makes this really great is that you get a new workbook every month. It arrives in a fun colorful box, and each box contains your workbook, and answer book. Who doesn’t love getting mail? It gives kids something to look forward to as they finish up one workbook!

Fun Books That Make Learning Easy

Not only are these books colorful and fun, but the program is set up in a way that makes it easy to learn, and check your work.

If you child is familiar with a concept they can complete the work pages and then check them with the answer book. You can let your child do the checking, or you can, and the answer book makes it super easy to glance over everything to make sure it’s right. (Because lets face it moms, we don’t like having to do the problems in our heads!)

If your child has questions getting an answer is super simple, you can just submit your question on the Discovery Learning site and they’ll post a video answer!

When they are finished with the workbook there is a test to make sure they’ve learned all the concepts and are ready to move on!

If you’re not sure what level your child should start with you can read the details of what each level contains and see a preview to make sure it’s the best for them to start with!

Take a Look at All Discovery Learning Math Subscriptions Has to Offer!

There are many subscription options, and 5 learning levels to choose from.   You can change your subscription at any time if you feel you want to try a different level!
