Are you thinking about homeschooling this year? Do you have tons of questions, lots of worries, and wonder how in the world you can make it work? Today I’m sitting down with veteran homeschooler Karla Harmer from The Happy Mustard seed to talk about how homeschooling is different from distance learning, how to balance homeschooling with working from home, and all of the freedom homeschooling can offer your family!

Over and over again over the past several weeks I’ve found myself answering questions about homeschooling, I’ve typed the same response several times on social media. I’ve offered encouragement, advice, explained the difference between homeschooling and distance learning and tried to help as much as I could.

So, I decided it was time to sit down with another veteran homeschooler and chat about all of the questions we’ve had from friends, family, and strangers on the internet. We wanted to talk about our experience, offer some encouragement, and help people to navigate this difficult decision.

We wanted to talk about the freedom that homeschooling offers when you choose it over distance learning, we wanted to talk about balancing homeschooling with working from home, housework, and time for self-care.

Deciding to homeschool is a HUGE decision and there are more families than ever trying to navigate that decision this school year.

My hope is that this conversation will help, that it will answer some questions, and that it will encourage you that you are capable if you decide to try homeschooling this year!
