This week’s episode is one of so important. It deals with difficult subjects and may be triggering for some listeners, but my conversation with the incredible Jen Elizabeth is one that anyone who has experienced trauma in their life needs to hear.
As a sober mom, sexual abuse survivor, and advocate for those in recovery Jen shares her story openly and honestly in an effort to help people feel comfortable facing their own trauma.
I first heard Jen on a podcast and I was amazed at how strong she is with how much she has lived through. I loved hearing how she has overcome her family’s generational trauma cycles and raising her kid’s in a completely different way.
I immediately bought her book “Shape of a Woman” and read it in 2 days, I knew I needed to talk with her about all that she has overcome in her life and how that is shaping her motherhood experience.
So many of us have lives touched by addiction and family trauma and healing from it can be a painful process, but one that is so worth it for living amazing lives for ourselves and our families. Jen is an amazing example of what a huge difference that healing can make.
