DIY Freshening Cleaner – My Spring Cleaning Blend

Spring has sprung!!

…Well… it’s trying at least.

The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and there are little buds springing out of the ground.

There was some snow yesterday though, and it was really cold in the morning… but at least it’s trying!

It has put me in the mood to open the windows, enjoy some fresh air, and do some spring cleaning!

(Well… Spring tidying… it’s not like I’m scrubbing walls or anything)

I decided to mix up some cleaner worthy of the sunshine and fresh air, that would help chase the winter away and give my house a Spring fresh scent!

This is a great cleaner for general cleaning, but it also packs a punch for deodorizing things like trash cans!

Spring cleaning blend

Here’s what you’ll need

1- Cup White Vinegar

1- Cup Water (preferably filtered or distilled)

10- drops Lemon Essential oil

10- drops Sweet Orange Essential Oil

10- drops Lime Essential Oil

5- drops Peppermint Essential oil

(head over to this post for a list of my favorite places to buy affordable essential oils)

A spray bottle for mixing. (you may remember in my DIY Thieves cleaner post I recommended a dark glass spray bottle, if you plan on storing this for more than a week or so, then a dark bottle is the way to go. We go through it pretty quickly so I just reused a Windex bottle)

This is super straight forward and easy! Pour your water and vinegar in the bottle. Now drop in your essential oils. Screw on your cap and give the whole thing a good shake!

You’re ready to clean!! Don’t worry about the vinegar smell that you get right at first, it evaporates quickly leaving behind the wonderful smell of the oils!

Now go make your house smell Spring fresh!

Tea Tree would probably be a great addition… I kind of hate the smell of it though. My husband loves it though so I may add some for him!
