If it is summertime you’ll probably find me cooking on the grill!! At our lake cabin I have a whole outdoor kitchen complete with counter, chopping block and sink, all to support my summer grilling! There is something great about cooking outside, the delicious flavor of the food, it’s quick, easy and your house doesn’t get hot from cooking!
Most of the time when I am lake bound I’m trying to get everything together that I’ll need for the weekend and with three hungry boys I always need FOOD!!!
My go-to stop is our local Giant Eagle. It is my favorite place to shop all the time because of it’s great atmosphere and selection, but when it comes to getting all my grilling supplies in one place Giant Eagle is the best!
Whether I’m looking for burgers, hot dogs, veggies, buns, drinks, dessert even a refill of my Blue Rhino propane tank… I can get it all there!
I decided this week to spoil my men with some delicious Market District Gourmet Seasoned Beef Burgers, made with Certified Angus Beef. I wanted to whip up this amazing creamy barbecue coleslaw to top them off (and of course topping off a veggie burger for me!) I love to throw a little gourmet taste and a delicious topping or side dish in an easy to make grilled meal!
Here’s what you’ll need to make this fabulous creamy barbecue coleslaw!
-Market District Gourmet Seasoned Beef Burgers, Certified Angus Beef
For the Coleslaw
– 1/2 Cup – Heinz BBQ Sauce (I used the Classic Sweet & Thick but any flavor would work!)
– 1 Cup – Hellmann’s Mayonnaise
-1 Bag Pre-Shredded Coleslaw Mix
-1/2 Red Onion
– Kraft Natural Cheese Slices (I used sharp cheddar but swiss would be great too!)
-Burger buns
You’ll want to make your coleslaw first. It’s best after it has been able to sit for 1/2 an hour or so, then the flavors have time to blend together. So make it then get your burgers grilling.
First thing you’ll want to do is finely chop your red onion. Now toss it with your coleslaw mix in a large mixing bowl. Add in your Heinz BBQ Sauce and Hellmann’s Mayonnaise and stir until the coleslaw is evenly coated. Cover the bowl and pop it in the fridge.
Now get your grill fired up and put your burgers on! The lovely thing about the Market District Gourmet Seasoned Beef Burgers is that they are already perfectly seasoned and ready to go! So just cook them to your liking whether you like them well done or medium rare!
Once the burgers are cooked to you liking top each with a Kraft Natural Cheese Slice and let it melt just a little. Set your burgers to the side and pop your buns on the grill open and face down for just a few minutes to toast them up!
Once everything is ready put your burgers on the buns and pile them high with a nice big scoop of the slaw & enjoy!! Or serve the creamy barbecue coleslaw on the side as an amazing side dish!
We washed these burgers down with some delicious refreshing Black Cherry Dragonfruit Aquafina Sparkling. Let me tell you it is a great alternative to soda! It is super bubbly, tastes great, but only has a tiny fraction of the sugar! My boys love it as much as I do and it is the perfect drink with dinner on a hot summer day!
For the finishing touch? How about some Breyer’s Ice Cream in Waffle Cone flavor!? Seriously nothing finishes up a tasty grilled meal like a dish of delicious ice cream! It just screams YAY SUMMER!!!
I love being able to put together an awesome delicious meal for my family from start to finish all with one stop to my favorite store!
No matter what your grilling needs be sure to go to Giant Eagle first, I’m sure they’ll have exactly what you’re looking for and so much more!
Do you love grilling? What is your go to recipe?

We don’t have Giant Eagle – boo. I’m thoroughly impressed with the burgers and the Aquafina. I’d love sharp cheddar on mine too, by the way.
