Uh oh! It’s that time of year again! The time of year when germs kick into high gear and invade your home! While try really hard to prevent the germs from getting my family sometimes we still end up with a cold, virus, or the dreaded flu.
So the next layer of caring for my people after prevention is making sure my home is stocked and ready with everything we need to feel better if a germ gets us! I like to be prepared with everything to get feeling better, to support our wellness, and keep comfortable when sickness strikes.
So this time of year I like to take the time to clean out and restock our medicine cabinet. Its the perfect time to throw out old sticky cough drops, and restock everything from cold medicine to bandages!
It’s actually a pretty quick and easy project that can leave you feeling great about your ability to care for your family through the upcoming germy season!
Here are my tips for getting it done!
#1- Check Expiration Dates- If you’re like me you may have medicine hiding in the back of your cabinet or closet that doesn’t get used much. While it’s great to have it on hand for any ailment that comes along it’s important to make sure it’s not expired! Expired medicine can have less effectiveness or may not work at all, so don’t let it take up valuable space!
#2- Stock Up On Your Favorite Meds– We definitely have our go-to medicine for colds and flu. So I like to make sure we’re stocked up on basics like pain relievers and allergy medicine but also on awesome symptom relievers like Theraflu Power Pods Nighttime Severe Cold (also available in Daytime Severe Cold). These not only temporarily relieve symptoms like a headache, congestion, cough, and fever but they pop right into your single serve coffee maker to brew a soothing warm beverage!
You can save $2.00 on any ONE (1) Theraflu Power Pods through 12/8, via this digital offer.
#3 Refill Prescriptions- While your prescriptions may not be specifically for anything cold and flu-related this is a great time to make sure you’re stocked up on them! Call your pharmacy and get your refills so that you don’t run out!
#4- Make Sure You’re Stocked Up For Kids Too– Kids need their own pain relievers and cold medicine so you want to make sure that you’ve got everything on hand to take care of the little ones. Always check with their Dr. if you’re unsure about what over the counter medicine is safe for their age!
#5- Stock Up On Other Supplies- While you’re picking up everything you need to stock up your medicine cabinet it’s a great idea to grab other supplies like chicken soup, tissues, and wellness tea. I always grab Kleenex® Lotion Tissues they are perfect for soothing irritated noses! Soothing Lotion infused with pure aloe and vitamin E and soothes tender skin. We also love Lipton Soothe Your Tummy Tea for its herbal infusion when your tummy feels less than it’s best!*
You can stock up on Theraflu, Kleenex and Lipton and all your other cold and flu needs on your next trip to Kroger. It’s super convenient to grab everything you need to restock your medicine cabinet and home along with your regular weekly groceries!
