I have a confession to make… I hide snacks.
Yep… I hide them, they sometimes go behind other food in the pantry, sometimes they stay in grocery bags and get stuck in the basement where I store extra food. My boys are famous for not looking thoroughly for things so I don’t have to get elaborate, just out of direct sight.
Why? Because the boys (& Man) who live at my house love their snacks!! The teenager will eat an entire bag of chips in one sitting, without even realizing what exactly they are. Nathan will go through a box of granola bars in 2 days if I let him… and I know it’s him because he leaves wrappers wherever he ate!
So when I whip up a snack mix like this, I know it won’t be around long. I make sure to pack some up for super hubby’s lunch so that he gets some, because once I tell them they can eat it these locusts that look like boys will finish off every last crumb.
This Asian snack mix?? They didn’t even let it cool off! I had to shoo them away so that I could take pictures!
This isn’t your everyday snack mix, it isn’t your typical flavor combinations, it isn’t a mix you’ve probably had 100 times before. It has a little Asian flair that makes it a snack mix that’s not just for kids, adults will gobble it up too!!
I picked up everything I need for this recipe on a trip to my local Walmart. I found the wasabi peas near the produce section! Of course, I picked up the variety pack of Goldfish® crackers so we’d have lots of extra snacks in the house!
Right now you can look for specially marked packages and save $1.00 on any ONE (1) Bolthouse Farms® 10 oz. Baby Carrots or Bolthouse Farms(® 11 oz. juice when you buy any ONE (1) Pepperidge Farm® Goldfish® crackers 30 oz. or larger.
Now to get started on this delicious treat!
Here’s what you’ll need for this Asian Snack Mix-
6- Tbsp Butter Melted
4- Tbsp Soy Sauce
1- tsp Ground Ginger
1 ½ – tsp Garlic Powder
2- tsp Sugar
1 ½ Cups Cheddar Goldfish Crackers
1 ½ Cups Pretzel Goldfish Crackers
1 ½ Cups Chow Mein Noodles
1- Cup Peanuts
1- Cup Wasabi Peas
3- Cups Rice Cereal Squares
First get your oven preheating to 250.
Now in a small bowl combine your butter, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and sugar, stir well until everything is incorporated nicely.
Now in a big bowl combine your Goldfish crackers, chow mein noodles, peanuts, wasabi peas and rice cereal squares.
Now pour your soy sauce mixture over everything and stir until all your cereal mixture is well coated.
Spread everything out on a large baking sheet and pop into the oven.
You’re going to bake it for 45 minutes, but set your timer for 20 and give it a stir, then pop it back in for the remaining 25.
Try to let it cool before the hungry children descend on it and start eating it all!! (make sure to grab a handful for yourself!!)
Once it’s cool it’s ready to enjoy. This Asian snack mix stores great in an airtight container.. if you don’t eat it all at once!

I hide snacks too! They find my hiding places, and then I go and find new ones.
This recipe is astounding. It has melted butter so my attention has been gotten. I would not be able to eat enough of this.

You could skip them all together and just add in a little more of the other ingredients. Or if there is a nut you can eat like almonds or cashews they would be tasty in it!
