Looking for a Christmas dessert that is as pretty as it is delicious?  A red velvet base, with a peppermint cream cheese layer, topped with creamy pudding and tasty whipped topping.

Ingredients  Red Velvet Cake Mix  Butter  Egg  Cream Cheese Powdered Sugar  Candy Canes  Milk  Cool Whip  Vanilla Pudding Mix Green Gel Food Coloring  Christmas Sprinkles

Mix red velvet cake mix, melted butter and egg. Press mixture into the bottom of a 13x9 in baking pan and bake for 15 minutes.  Allow to cool completely

With an electric mixer, in a large mixing bowl cream together cream cheese, powdered sugar and 1/4 cup milk.  Mix in crushed candy canes.

Carefully fold in thawed Cool Whip until well incorporated.

Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the red velvet base. Refrigerate for about 15 minutes.

In a medium size mixing bowl combine milk, pudding mix with a whisk. Mix thoroughly.

Add green food coloring and mix, start with a few drops. Add more and mix until you achieve your desired color.  Make it as light or dark as you'd like.

Spread pudding mixture evenly across the cream cheese layer.

Spread Cool Whip evenly across the pudding layer. Refrigerate for 4 hours. If you prefer whipped cream instead you can it to each piece as it is served!
