Are your kid’s fidget spinners driving you crazy?? Here’s a great way to put them to work, and make your life easier! You can make chores fun with a fidget spinner using these fun ideas!
So we already know that 2017 is going to be known as the year of the fidget spinner… I mean they are every where! I honestly thought we had missed it, my kids didn’t much care about them.
Then we went on a field trip with our homeschoolers group and Daniel got his hands on one that one of the other kids had with them. That very day we found one for him, and he loves it!
I know that these little spinners have annoyed many teachers and parents over these last several months, fortunately ours hasn’t become a disruption. In fact we’ve found several ways to take this fun little fidget spinner and make it a help in our home!
Last week I shared how I figured out some great educational ways to work it into our homeschool, it helps make it a help instead of a distraction!
After figuring out what a help it could be for school work, I wondered if we could put it to work into other areas too??So I got to thinking and decided maybe it could be a huge help with chores and daily routines? And guess what, it is!
Here are some super fun ways that you can make chores fun with a fidget spinner!!
Use it as a tooth brushing timer! So my little man groans every time I tell him it’s time to brush his teeth. I know he’s not the only kid who doesn’t like to take time for this daily task. So I thought, why not use the spinner as a timer? If you place it on a flat surface and give it a good spin its the perfect tooth brushing timer! I timed it and ours spins for right about 2 minutes, great for getting those pearly whites clean!
Play beat the spinner– Since we know what the spinner will go for a good two minutes it’s time to get things done! I know my boys love a challenge so playing beat the spinner is right up their alley! Want to get all their dirty clothes picked up? Maybe clean up the game they’ve been playing, or tackle a portion of a giant Lego pile? Give the fidget spinner a whirl and then clean like crazy! Breaking apart a big job like cleaning their room into pieces and then running through them can help make a daunting job fun, and super speedy!
Use the fidget spinner…. as a spinner- A list or chart of chores is boring!! Make it fun to choose what job to tackle by giving the fidget spinner a twirl! I have two printable spinners that you can print out and fill in, one with 4 spaces and one with 8. You can fill in your child’s chores, add a little triangle cut out of tape, and voila you have a spinner spinner to choose a chore from! This is a fun way to work through a list of chores or even if they’re one a day to pick which one!
You can print out your own here-
There you have it! Awesome ways to make chores fun with a fidget spinner! Get your kids excited about tackling chores and daily routines by using their favorite toy!
