Oh its grilling season again!!
Out here at the lake my grill is my main form of cooking, so I’m getting creative with what I’m cooking on it. Plain old burgers, hot dogs, chicken and even steak can get boring after a while.
Enter in these awesome burgers. They are delicious, moist, and super easy….
Did I mention healthy?
Yep good, good, good all around!
Here’s what you’ll need (this makes about 8 good size burgers)
2-lbs Ground Chicken
1- pkg Frozen Chopped Spinach
1- Cup Parmesan Cheese ( I like to use the freshly grated kind, not the powdery stuff)
1-Tbsp Minced Garlic
1/2 -tsp Sea Salt
1-2- Tbsp Olive Oil
Buns- I like to use the multigrain thins
lettuce & tomato (optional)
First you want to thaw and drain your spinach then squeeze it dry.
Now we’re going to cook the garlic and spinach together so that the flavors blend together nicely in the burgers. So add your olive oil, garlic and spinach in a pan and cook it on medium for about 5 minutes, the garlic and spinach will start to soften but you don’t want them cooked to mush.
Let that cool for a few minutes.
Now in a big bowl, mix together your chicken, salt, parmesan, and the spinach mixture. Get your hands dirty and mix it all together. Now form it into patties.
I highly recommend covering your grill with non-stick foil before cooking these. Because they don’t have a lot of fat in them they’re prone to sticking.
Now grill them up! You want to keep an eye on them, when the juices run clear check one (I always cut one open to check) you don’t want to dry them out!
Now top them off with some provolone, put them on a bun, and add some lettuce and tomato!
Eat them up & enjoy!
